NAUI Public Safety Diver / FFM / Drysuit Specialist Course(s)

Public Safety Diver/ Full Face Mask /Dry Suit Specialist is a specialty level certification course during which you will learn the fundamental knowledge and skills related to public safety diving and specialized equipment. The FFM class will teach a diver how to properly use this highly specialized equipment. We will cover proper fit and adjustments, clearing the mask and ears while at depth, donning and doffing during emergency drills and scenarios, utilizing different regulators and air supplies, utilizing communication systems and other accessories, utilizing the ambient breathing valve along with proper cleaning, maintenance and storage.

NOTE: Basic Open Water and Advanced Open Water are prerequisites to any other offered advanced level scuba certifications. We will accept c-cards from all widely recognized certifying organizations (NAUI, SSI, DUI, UTD, PADI, etc..)
Online e-learning will be a prerequisite before the first day of class.

Public Safety Diver Module (PSD)

Dates: July 19-21, 2024 (Surface skills incl. tending, operations, scene management Friday July 19th, 2024 from 6:00 pm EST until approx. 9:30 pm EST and Saturday July 20th, 2024 from 9:00 am EST until approx. 5:00 pm EST. Scenario based and application dives Sunday July 21st, 2024 from 9:00 am EST until approx. 5:30 pm EST). Specific module times subject to change at instructor's discretion, however entire class will still be on the dates and times given.

These prices are per person and include the equipment needed on a first come first serve basis, facilities use and a very good location for the check out dives. In addition to this, BCRS is willing to support this effort by providing the classroom setting and will also provide room in the squads bunk room which should cut down on travel expense (up to six). Beds in bunk room are on a first come first serve basis.
This course will be certified through NAUI and c-cards will be provided.
This is a partnership class and all registrations will go through DWU/Blount County Rescue Squad. Attendees must be registered with Brian Osgood and paid prior to attendance.
